About Green The Church
Founded in 2010, Green The Church (GTC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and a national initiative designed to tap into the power and purpose of the Black Church and expand the role of frontline faith communities as catalysts for environmental and economic resilience. GTC engages Black congregations in the fight for ecological justice and helps churches with the life and death work of ensuring their communities survive. In collaboration with major environmental, sustainability, food security, faith, and community-based non-profit organizations, GTC has created a cadre of Black churches engaging in the environmental justice, climate, and sustainability movement.
