Sustainable, generational change in under-resourced communities has proven difficult to achieve. Greenhouse is changing that paradigm by working from within – partnering with the most inspiring young leaders and surrounding them with a powerful, lifelong community. Together, we’re launching and scaling bold initiatives that are transforming communities across our country and the world. Our approach is unique because it combines three high-impact elements: •Education as the great leveler and gateway to opportunity • A powerful, committed community diverse in age, socioeconomics, geography, perspectives, and backgrounds, and then leveraging that community’s collective power, capabilities, ideas, and resources • Working with the most inspiring role models from low-income communities, surrounding them with leadership, personal, professional, and community change success resources, to then initiate change from within. No other organization combines these elements in the way Greenhouse does, making our impact both immediate and generational. The ripple effect of our Community Change Model is evident in our stories and outcomes. Our impact is tangible and growing: • 100% of Scholars say Greenhouse has made them more accountable. • 13 new companies and projects funded in the last 12 months. • 400+ for-profit and nonprofit businesses and community change initiatives launched. • 98% of Greenhouse Scholars graduate college, compared to just 15% of all low- income, first-generation students. • Starting salaries of our alumni are 2x greater than their parents and 22% higher than their peers. • 4,000 communities we have demonstrably affected to date, from K-12 schools to large social groups, and entire geographic communities. • An additional 300,000 people are directly impacted by Greenhouse every year through mentoring, volunteering, coaching, community initiatives. We are fueling the power of opportunity, choice, and belief.
