About Greenmount East Leadership Project
The Greenmount East Leadership Project (GELP) is a community organization committed to uplifting at-risk adolescents in Greenmount East, Baltimore. By providing skills, resources, and developmental support, our mission is to help youth successfully transition from childhood to adulthood and reach their full potential. We are proud to be the recipient of the 2024 Summer Funding Collaborative grant for our Summer Youth Empowerment Academy. Program Overview: A 6-week program designed for inner city youth (ages 13 – 19) to explore, receive education in, and be exposed to the following subjects: career awareness, transition planning, fitness, nutrition, mental health/wellness, financial literacy, and business enterprise development. Through activities, mentorship, workshops, tours, and more, we aim to introduce youth to different career paths, promote healthy and mindful living, and impart life skills that facilitate a successful transition from adolescence to adulthood, which is our ultimate mission.
