Gross + Cohen Real Estate Investors, Ltd. is one of the industry’s most experienced and long-standing operators of off-campus student housing in the country. We have sponsored, owned, operated or managed successful student housing facilities at Purdue University, the University of Louisville, Western Michigan University, the University of Notre Dame (where we are the largest provider of student housing in the market), University of New Hampshire (multiple campuses) and Fulton-Montgomery Community College. Gross + Cohen targets underperforming or underutilized assets in favorable student housing markets without bias. Acquisitions may be at large, nationally known universities or secondary and “tertiary” markets that show strong fundamentals and demand. The type of product we acquire ranges greatly, from antiquated, non-purpose built multifamily properties to mismanaged or “under-amenitized” purpose built student housing. While every acquisition is different, our principles remain consistent; find the best locations near campus, maximize deployment of capital and provide a product that offers unmatched value to students in that particular marketplace.
