About Groundswell Conservancy
We protect special places forever. We are a Wisconsin nonprofit and community-based organization. We believe everyone should live in a world filled with green places where communities thrive. Land is essential for people’s physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness. All should enjoy equitable access to the benefits of land and nature. If we don’t protect undeveloped land now, it may be lost forever. Groundswell is a results-oriented organization. Since 1983, we have permanently protected hundreds of special places where people can enjoy and explore the out-of-doors in south-central Wisconsin. We work with farm families to keep rich farm soils available for farming. We help elementary schools in Madison create green schoolyards where children can have fun in nature. We manage natural areas to care for wildlife and connect communities to the land. We improve access and land tenure for farmers of color and New American farmers.
