About Grow Organic Day

Grow Organic Day is a nonprofit organization with the specific mission of educating today’s youth in the Southern California area in the methods of organic growing and awareness of the benefits of living an organic lifestyle. The event will take place at the beautiful Del Mar Fairgrounds, Saturday and Sunday, March 26 & 27, 2011. Youth education is achieved through specialized educational events, demonstrations on growing garden vegetables, and workshops that allow both children and families to learn by doing. From planting garden seeds to bare roots fruit trees. Students will learn organic gardening techniques, discuss new ideas relating to the advocacy of sustainable farming, and apply these concepts in their own lives and that of others. Go beyond planting tomatoes! The two day show will feature many many organic gardening professionals and vendors that use only organic products or supply services to promote “Green” living. Whether it is using organic fertilizers, organic pesticide controls, or to build your own container for your backyard garden! This show will offer many opportunities and hands on demonstrations to learn how to create or start your own vegetable container garden, plant vegetables and herbs and when, and most importantly how to enjoy them! We will have cooking demonstrations from some of Southern California’s most prestigious Chef’s.
