Looking at the connections between fashion, nature and agriculture, Growing ARC through the exploration of material culture and citizen science addresses biodiversity, sustainability, consumption and how we come together as Community. Growing A.R.C. is a playground where all people can engage in the process of doing. Formed by a group of friends motivated by their curiosity and desire to create a better world, our organisation was inspired by the “Farm to Table” movement where our project creates a similar mindset change in “Farm to Fashion.” We focus on biodiversity, sustainability, and community organising. Fostering a culture of community-supported bioregional material systems, we experiment with textile production and host “Playdates”, free workshop events which give the public the chance to participate with us in our experiments.
