About Grupo Fersil

The Grupo FERSIL has consolidated its position in the last 35 years, as a market leader in plastic piping systems in Portugal and in East and central Africa. The Group dedicated to design, develop and manufacture plastic piping systems for the construction in buildings, working infrastructures, agriculture irrigation, gardening and household uses, technical and industrial applications. With three production sites spread over two continents, the Group companies are distinguished by quality, innovation and ethics in business, in the countries where they operate and market its wide range products. The Group started its journey in 1978 with the company FERSIL - Freitas & Silva, joined five years later by Ibotec - Indústria de Tubagens, focused in expanding its market share. In order to continue the path of success and strengthen its position in Africa , the Group opened in 2007 , a new and modern plant in Angola , FIL - Tubos Angola, and five years later opened a new unit in Mozambique – FERSIL Moçambique. In the view of the complementarity of the Group companies, and in response to the demands of the process of product distribution in 2009, Themaguia - Exportação e Importação was created. Africa emerged naturally in the expansion strategy, as an alternative market, not only by the ties which unite us with the African people, but because it is where is an emerging need for infrastructure, which led to the creation of various programs of water supply and sewerage in local populations, as well as encouragement of irrigation projects that are the mainstay of growth of food production. With the growing contribution of African markets, reduced dependence on the Iberian market, this has overcome the crisis in the construction sector.
