GT Shipping & Engineering was established May 4 in 2021 by Tor-Arve Skjerli and Geir Almestad. Both have documented and well recognized experience in the shipbuilding industry, having worked with many of the major yards in Europe and Far East for the leading principals. The company’s business concepts is to develop industry leading and efficient designs for the market of advanced tanker ships, working together with typically ship owners, shipyards, shipbrokers, design companies, suppliers, classification societies and financial institutions. GT Shipping & Engineering can provide services to clients extending from initial idea, through the design process, during the construction phase and until ships are ready to be delivered from the shipyard. Furthermore, modifications projects and assessments/inspections of ships in service is also a service that can be offered. The company operates with a lean profile at a competitive level. Albeit, shipbuilding in Far East requires experienced and sufficient personnel within the various fields, we are able to provide good and experienced teams lead by a professional and good management. Upcoming challenging rules and requirements for a reduction in emissions from ships will be high on the agenda, with evaluations of new technologies for both existing ships and newbuildings.
