About GTA Architecture

Garry Tomporowski, Architect AIBC, has garnered over 30 years of successful practice experience in Western Canada, specifically in the Prairies, and British Columbia. From 1989 to 1994 as part of this evolution, the firm expanded to include South East Asia, opening and maintaining joint venture offices in Hong Kong and Guam. The original firm, Tomporowski Architectural Group Ltd. started in the fall of 1977. After sixteen years of practice in Saskatchewan, five years in Vancouver, and an overseas partnership all operating simultaneously from 1989 to 1994, it was decided in 1993 that the firm re-organize and re-locate its main base of operations to Kelowna. At its largest, the Canadian office consisted of 22 persons including five Architects, two interior designers, two full time construction administrators and with numerous drafting and support staff. Presently the firm maintains eight-full time persons and two contract persons. We have recently undertaken projects ranging from hotel convention facilities to 100 unit multi-family projects as well as other diverse commercial and recreation projects at Big White Ski Resort. We believe that the consistency and success of our organization is reflected in the fact that over 70 percent of our work is for repeat Clients. These Clients tell us that the most significant attribute of our organization is that we are easy to get along with, and above all, listen to their ideas, thereby providing a very personal and individual service. The unique geographical characteristics and diversity of Client groups (from large corporations to remote Aboriginal Settlements), has taught us flexibility in listening and responding to the unique social and cultural situations of urban, rural and remote communities.
