About GTech Surveys Limited

We are a UK Midlands-based broadcast and telecommunications consultancy able to conduct complex and technically specialised TV and radio technology-based survey projects throughout the UK and Ireland. We undertake radio frequency (RF) signal surveys, television signal reception surveys (e.g. pre and post-construction TV and radio signal assessments for planning purposes), Airwave (TETRA) radio network surveys and 2G (GPRS and GSM-R), 3G (UMTS) and 4G (LTE inc. LTE-Advanced / 4G+) mobile phone signal surveys and network coverage assessments. We also conduct interference investigations and provide telecommunications planning support for construction companies, property developers, architects, local planning authorities and renewable energy operators. Since our inception we have developed and continually refined software, interference modelling and turbine pre-erection survey techniques to assess the television, radio and telecommunications interference that may arise from a proposed or operational wind turbine or wind farm. In addition to radio interference modelling services and television reception surveys, we produce ES & EIA Telecommunications Chapters (also known as an 'Electronic Interference Chapter') and S73 applications, liaising with telecommunications providers (Arqiva, BT, openreach etc.) and satisfying The Town and Country Planning EIA Regulations 2017, Part 5, Regulation 18 (Parts 5a and 5b) with respect to our discipline. We peer review ES and EIA submissions, and advise developers with respect to associated Section 106 (Town and Country Planning Act 1990) and Section 75 (Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997) agreements. We also verify Freeview, VHF radio and DAB transmitter coverage, and are actively involved with the UK's ongoing digital terrestrial television (DTT) upgrade project, working with the primary organisations involved; Arqiva, Restore TV (at800), Digital UK and Ofcom.
