About Guernsey Employment Trust
Everyone deserves the opportunity to find a job they love. Guernsey Employment Trust (GET) supports people who have experienced difficulties with their mental health, autism, learning difficulties and other disabilities or health conditions to develop their skills and experience, ensuring they're an asset to a business or employer. We believe we have a community in Guernsey that encourages and supports disabled people and those with health conditions to get employed. However, discrimination is a complex subject and is deeply rooted within our society. It would be unfair not to acknowledge the additional barriers that disabled people face to secure and maintain employment. We work closely with employers helping to break down barriers and create employment opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged people. We offer employers advice and training on a one to one basis when supporting a GET client into a new role. Or on request, we can provide bespoke disability awareness training and good practice guidance on disability and employment matters to a team or an organisation. Businesses wishing to take a proactive approach to equality and inclusion should consider signing our Employers' Disability Charter. It consists of nine commitments and provides employers with a clear structure and action plan to diversify your workforce and promote inclusion. Businesses do not have to achieve all nine commitments at the time of signing the Charter, simply show a spirit of intent to work towards each commitment. Signing up to the Charter is free. If you would like any more information on the services we offer, including bespoke training or the Employers' Disability Charter then please get in touch.
