Gutsy uses applied drama, improvisation and dramatic play to help participants safely move past shyness and inhibitions to express themselves confidently in a way they never thought possible so quickly. Gutsy workshops and programmes are not only challenging but extremely enjoyable. Fun and play are essential elements that allow you to feel safe enough to drop your guard, get comfortable in your skin, sidestep the blocks built up in your mind, and break out of old habitual behaviours before you know it. Participants show up nervous, uncertain and fearful, and leave energised, expansive and hopeful. This gentle and supportive method means you’re always in control and working at your own pace, so it’s appropriate for those struggling with shyness, social anxiety, self-consciousness, anyone who wants to better understand their introvert nature, and those who feel confident in certain areas but need some tools to support them through their next gutsy move. Gutsy Founder Susannah Worth was a whisper-voiced shy child, allergic to the limelight and phobic of the phone. These strategies helped take her from freeze to freedom and she now shares them with warmth, sensitivity, creativity and humour, and from a place of shared experience. If life is all pounding heart, hot face, choked voice, sweaty pits and tingly fingertips – it doesn’t have to be this way.
