Family owned by husband-and-wife Giacomo Galimberti, originally from Lake Como, Italy and Kristen MacCormack who is from Leesburg, Virginia. Giacomo is a certified Sommelier who previously worked in restaurants in Washington DC, Dubai and London. At Gvino we want to offer a boutique personal service in recommendations and relationships that you can’t find in larger stores. With wine-tasting classes and free wine tastings, customers may experience a variety of wines. These events bring the community together. These personal touches and the sense of community makes your neighborhood wine shop the perfect place to buy your wine. Enoteca is an Italian word that is derived from the Greek word Οινοθήκη, which literally means “wine library”, but it is used to describe a special type of local or regional wine shop that originated in Italy.
