Gwalia United – Past, Present, and Future Founded in 1975 as Cardiff City Ladies, our club has been a proud pioneer in women’s football for nearly five decades. From grassroots beginnings to producing over 100 international players, we have built a legacy rooted in resilience, talent, and community spirit. For many years, we carried the flag for Welsh football in England, competing against the strongest clubs in the game and giving countless young players a platform to dream. In 2024, we began a bold new chapter, rebranding as Gwalia United to reflect our national identity and ambition. We are now the only Welsh club competing in the English system, representing not just a city, but the whole nation. Off the pitch, we’ve rebuilt our infrastructure, introduced cutting-edge performance analysis, and deepened our commitment to developing homegrown players. On the pitch, we are building a squad capable of challenging for promotion, while remaining grounded in our values of integrity, inclusivity, and excellence. Looking ahead, our vision is clear: to rise through the leagues and reach the Women’s Super League, inspiring the next generation of Welsh players and supporters along the way.
