GWAVA, markets Retain as a unified archiving suite primarily focused on email archiving for Microsoft Office 365 and Exchange, but also includes comprehensive native support for archiving Gmail and Novell GroupWise email. In addition to email archiving, Retain supports the archiving of electronic business communication including data created on mobile devices, social media, instant messages, and internet web searches, as well as built-in content filtering and URL Blocking. For mobile devices, Retain archives communication data for Android, BlackBerry, and iOS, including SMS/text messages, BBM Messages, BBM Protected, phone call logs, and PIN Messages. It archives social media communication for Yammer, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. It archives instant message data for Lync/Skype for Business, AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), Yahoo Messenger, Google Chat, and Google Hangouts. Retain also captures and archives end-user web searches for search engines and web services including Google, Bing, Yahoo, YouTube, and Wikipedia. Retain also provides content filtering, and URL blocking of social media, instant messages, and web search content. GWAVA has a strong partner channel with 70% of overall sales through VARs. GWAVA continues to focus on its BlackBerry OEM partnership, wherein Retain is rebranded and sold by BlackBerry as the ‘BlackBerry Audit and Archiving Service’. Retain Insights, introduced last year, is the underlying eDiscovery technology that allows Retain to search, and take action on outside data sources, as well as conduct e-discovery activities across any connected dataset, and is receiving high marks from customers. Retain also includes an improved search engine, which provides search suggestions, keyword tagging, a Boolean search wizard and Regex functions. Retain is offered as an on-premises, or cloud solution.
