Nancy J. Wintner is owner of Pittsburgh-based GWN Consultants which specialize in marketing and public relations services for small businesses and professional service firms. GWN Consultants may be the only Pittsburgh area marketing professional using an innovative problem solution approach to marketing that helps businesses attract new clients. A marketing and public relations professional for nearly 30 years, Ms. Wintner’s experience includes creating, managing and directing business/practice development campaigns, local, regional and national publicity, marketing and public relations campaigns, and creating and marketing web sites. Results have included increased revenues for her clients. Prior to starting her own company nearly 20 years ago, Ms. Wintner was a Senior Account Executive for Ketchum Public Relations --one of the nation’s premier public relations agencies in the 80s--for nearly a decade.Her accounts included the award-winning National Geographical Television series and the popular KOOL JAZZ Festivals. Ketchum received three awards as a result of her publicity efforts for the National Geographic Specials. Following Ketchum, Ms.Wintner served as Marketing Director for several professional service firms where she developed, spearheaded and implemented business/practice development and marketing and public relations campaigns. Ms. Wintner is an Accredited Public Relations Executive (APR)--by the Public Relations Society of America -- the highest possible certification for a public relations professional. Ms. Wintner is an officer on the Board of Directors for SMC Business Councils, a non-profit organization which represents more than 3,000 small businesses in Western Pennsylvania. She currently serves as Vice Chairwoman for SMC's prestigious Communications Committee. She is also on SMC's “Ask the Expert” hotline panel where she fields questions from members who are struggling with marketing issues.
