Picture it – a steamy afternoon in the New York summer of 2009 and Aussie born and bred David Freeman is feeling pretty Zen after an awesome yoga class. Feeling super flexible and in need of some serious hydration, his Yogi offers him a glass of coconut water – a first for David, but one that would make a lasting impression. Inspired initially by the taste, David begins researching the amazing benefits of coconut water and his vision begins to take form. David spends the next two years looking to create his very own product – one that’s as close to drinking straight out of a coconut itself – and H2COCO is born. H2COCO hits the ground running and after just 12 months on the market, the Aussie owned and run brand becomes a household name. Looking to take the brand even further, David enlists TV and radio icon Kyle Sandilands and Andrew Hawkins as business associates and it’s not long before H2COCO goes completely gangbusters. Fast forward to today and H2COCO is the first name people think of when it comes to all things ‘coconut’. Our head office in Sydney is where the magic happens and we flex plenty of retail muscle throughout major chains including Woolworths Australia, Coles and Chemist Warehouse. We love keeping things real, so we ensure we’re also in cool independent stores across Australia and New Zealand. So from a sweaty yoga session in New York to one of the world’s most loved coconut brands – here we are! That’s our story in a (coco)nutshell.
