About Hackney Church Brew

Founded by a small group of friends, the Hackney Church Brew Co. was formed after meeting in church and discovering a mutual passion for great beer. Named after the church we are partnered with, the brewery launched in June 2018 with a desire to create outstanding beer and be a part of the local community by helping those most vulnerable. Through the partnership with Hackney Church, now with locations in Hackney, Homerton, Leyton and Shoreditch, a portion of the brewery’s profits gets poured back into the church’s outreach work. Initiatives like the Food Bank, Homeless Winter Night Shelter, and The Lighthouse Project Drop-in Lunch, are just some of the ways this is done. During lockdown, this outreach work has adapted its mode of operation and has given out more than 55 000 meals to those in need, expanding its area of service as the need has grown. Four years on and the Hackney Church Brew Co. vision is the same – to produce world-class beer and serve the community we belong to. We serve our own tasty beers alongside delicious food in our taproom and sunny garden. In our book, that’s beer for all sorts.
