About Hagar Brown & Dorsey

In 2001, the Hereford based Hagar & Associates, P.C., the Amarillo based Brown Surveying Company and the Canyon based Dorsey Surveying Company, joined forces to form the partnership of Hagar, Brown & Dorsey, LLC. This combination of resources created one of the largest geographical areas of historical survey records in the Texas Panhandle. These historical survey records span the careers of six different land surveyors and date back to the early 1900's. The three R's of land surveying are: Research, Retrace boundaries and Recover old monumentation. With this large amount of historical information available, HBD is able to do these and fulfill client needs with greater ease and with greater accuracy. Principle associates at HBD include: Kevin C. Brown began his surveying career in 1977, became licensed in 1988, and formed Brown Surveying Company as owner in 1992. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from West Texas State University in 1983. James Pringle earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Tarleton State University in 1993. He began his surveying career in 1993 and earned his Texas registration in 2002. Alan Rich began his surveying career in 1984 and earned his Texas registration in 1998. Jay Q. Drake, PLS, CP. Jay is a 2004 graduate of Texas A&M University Corpus Christi with a Bachelor of Science in Geographic Information Science. In 2011, he completed the Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing program at the University of Twente, Enschede, Netherlands and he is currently pursuing a Professional Master of Science degree in Survey Engineering from the University of Maine. He is Certified Photogrammetrist #1524 (American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing) and is licensed to practice as a professional land surveyor in New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas and Oklahoma. He earned his FAA Remote Pilot Certificate in 2018.
