About Hamilton House Books
The Critical Mass cover captured a sense of mystery and danger with the hooded protagonist holding the symbols and giving the impression he was on the run which actually is the crux of that book. The Atlantis Codes is all about initial discovery, mystery, and danger mixed together constantly along with the concurrent story of the destruction of Atlantis(at least my version of it). The boat is central to the story and the one you are using is very close to the one in the book, but the background shows no relationship to the elements of the book. Most of the book takes place in places like Key West, Anna Maria Island, FL, on the open waters of the Gulf and Atlantic, and on North Bimini Island of the Bahamas. And...on the ancient beautiful continent of Atlantis. The current cover proof just puts a huge boat in front of a luxury oceanfront location that looks like Monaco and it feels more like a cruise brochure. I know that covers sell books so I want to make sure that a potential reader gets a hint of the wild weasel ride and revelations this book builds into, continuing into future books in the series. It is a build up with a feel of the unknown and how a regular guy and his friends get caught up in a world-changing dash for his life and his determination to keep promises...and to discover why he is under constant threat. So there are a lot of interesting elements to work with, some of which I had included in my original cover, and I am willing to assist the cover designer any way I can. I just know that these covers are my handshake and salesperson to anyone looking at my books and I need to make sure that they are enticing enough for someone to want to look a little closer. I also know that the cover designers don't usually read the books, so I will list the stronger elements contained in The Atlantis Codes for consideration:
