About Hands for Hope
Hands for Hope was founded in August 2000 by a group of young, passionate (and fun!) Australian Vietnamese who, after a major flood crisis in Vietnam, appealed to the public to help assist the victims. However, they didn’t stop there, and instead, decided to maintain their dedication and resolve towards making a difference in Vietnam. With this dedication in mind, they formally registered H4H in Australia in 2001 and desired to direct their energy towards changing the current struggle facing disadvantaged families in rural communities. Since then, a steady group of dedicated and passionate volunteers have joined the cause. Seventeen years later, H4H continues to exist as an organization that inspires a culture of innovation, charity, and active engagement within our communities, with the ultimate desire of supporting and helping our fellow human beings. Our Mission To change lives! We partner with outstanding poor and disadvantaged children in Vietnam and their families, to help realising their dreams by providing them with previously inaccessible education, health care services, and mentorship. Hands for Hope focuses on three approaches which we believe to be the most effective means to truly change the lives of disadvantaged children in Vietnam. Education – Offering hope of a future free from the poverty cycle to poor children Corrective surgery – Giving the gift of independence and self-reliance to disabled children. Mentorship – Building relationships and network opportunities that will give our sponsored children the real opportunity to break out of their circumstances. Offer Hope. Foster Independence. Build relationships.
