HAPPY FOOD One Families Journey for Healthy Food, More Energy and Joy Robin Randall-Lewis & her husband Doug Lewis blog about their family’s journey on eating for improved energy and health. After having five kids, the Lewis’s find themselves out of energy, out of time and out of joy. The blog shares their family’s food journey as they jump onto the sustainable food movement train. Struck by the gross and inhumane conditions for which animal protein makes its way to the table through traditional industrial factory farming, the Lewis’s look for alternatives where meat and dairy is not genetically altered, hormone infused, salmonella and e-coli coated. The blog also shares the fun of adding more fruit & veggies to the family diet, no small task for kids who think McDonalds is one of the 4 major food groups in the food pyramid. The blog is written with humor for all things food for which readers with and without kids will enjoy. Doug and Robin talk with local farmers, food writers, and chef’s who are cooking with sustainable farmed foods in their quest to find “happy food” for their family. They provide easy to understand explanations for organic food, clean food, and how factory farmed meat is making us sick and obese. Recipes are provided that are easy to cook, kid and family friendly, and meet her “Happy Food” criteria.
