About HARMONY Alliance Foundation

The HARMONY Alliance began as two ambitious projects funded under the Innovative Medicines Initiative (now IHI): HARMONY and HARMONY PLUS. Launched in 2017 and 2020 respectively, these large-scale public-private partnerships brought together more than 100 organizations across Europe, including academic institutions, hospitals, patient organizations, regulatory agencies, and pharmaceutical companies. The shared goal was to unlock the potential of big data to improve the treatment and care of patients with haematologic malignancies. By building a unique, secure data platform integrating anonymized data from over 120,000 patients, the HARMONY Alliance set a new standard in the use of real-world evidence in haematology. Through data harmonization and collaborative research, we achieved further disease classification, treatment outcomes, and patient stratification. With the successful completion of both projects, the infrastructure created could not be left behind. To ensure sustainability and continued impact, this joint endeavour transitioned into the HARMONY Alliance Foundation, a non-profit entity that now stewards the Platform, and continues promoting data sharing, and supporting data-driven research. Today, the Foundation is a trusted partner for researchers, clinicians, and innovators seeking to leverage high-quality data to advance precision medicine in blood cancers.
