What? We look at health through the prism of harmony; the cyclical nature of life, interconnectedness and interdependence, diversity, the oneness of everything. Harmony in Health connects natural approaches with modern ideas that are in conformity with Nature and enhance its healing aspects, aiming to restore balance in a human being. Why? Healthcare services are at their limit. Modern Medicine is primarily concerned with the treatment of illness - once it occurs - rather than seeking to maintain health. It does not define health other than as the absence of disease or by referencing a few markers such as body mass index, cholesterol levels or blood pressure. Yet certain traditional systems of medicine and many mind-body disciplines do understand health in terms of a balanced relationship between the different systems and functions of the organism. There is great potential in helping people to make use of the many different disciplines to cultivate and maintain their own health. How? We can find a new way of looking at health, and a new vocabulary of health based on the principles of harmony. A more balanced, harmonious state of health can be brought about by drawing on natural systems of medicine, mind-body practices from East and West, and an increased focus on everyday factors that promote wellbeing. Join Us! We want to grow a team of experts to increase awareness of harmony in health ideas and bring them into the community in a practical way. ---------------------------- Harmony in Health is part of The Harmony Project, which takes its inspiration from HRH The Prince of Wales’ vision, set out in his book ‘Harmony: A new way of looking at our world’. This vision shows us that, by turning to Nature as our teacher, we are better placed to tackle the challenges facing humankind.
