About us Harper Broom is a medium-sized firm of Chartered Accountants based in Maidenhead, with strong local connections. It was established over 100 years ago and its traditional values are blended with modern thinking, flair and flexibility. The Firm's History The firm began practising from Clements Inn, the Strand, as 'Payne, Harper & Co' and was admitted to the Society of Incorporated Accountants and Auditors (a forerunner to the modern ICAEW) in March 1895, and quickly built a solid, professional reputation. Jack E Broom oversaw the development of the firm through the 1950s and '60s, and in 1977 the firm - by now known as 'Harper Broom Roberts' - began to operate two offices: the existing office in Holborn and a new office in Maidenhead. Today Harper Broom is based solely in Maidenhead, but retains many of its London clients. The town's proximity and good transport links to London mean that HB is well-placed to service its clients in London and elsewhere.
