About Haru Dance
HARU is a K-Pop dance cover club at Rutgers University. Our goal is to share Korean pop culture through the art of dance, and we welcome all members who have a passion for K-pop and/or dancing, regardless of experience and skill. We mainly focus on creating dance covers to perform at our semesterly showcases, upload onto our YouTube channel, and even perform at other non-HARU events. Some of these non-HARU events include K-pop dance contests held statewide, nationwide, and even internationally. HARU has proudly claimed wins from ALAND K-Pop Contest (2021-2023), KCON Cover Star K Dance Contests (2018-2019), Changwon K-Pop World Festival (2018), K-POP World Festival D.C. (2017), and ANX KPOP Battles (Triple Crown Champions, 2016-2017). Founded by a group of 5 friends in November of 2011, HARU has since then grown much bigger with new members joining each year. In addition to new members, we have also recently celebrated 132k subscribers on our YouTube channel! As K-pop has been making it bigger in the U.S., we plan to continue to grow as a diverse club and celebrate Korean culture among this diverse community.
