About Harvard-Radcliffe Gilbert & Sullivian Players
The Harvard-Radcliffe Gilbert and Sullivan Players are an independent, 501(c)3 nonprofit student theater group, dedicated to performing comic operas. Our fall shows are the most attended, the highest-budgeted, and the largest cast-crew-and-orchestra involved productions on campus. HRG&SP, managed by a Board of Directors made up ten to fifteen undergraduates, is primarily supported by our wide circle of patrons throughout the Boston area. While we are an undergraduate organization, our productions are open to anyone qualified by audition, and our casts, orchestras, and crews frequently include students in Harvard’s graduate and professional schools, students from other universities and conservatories, the occasional alum, and members of the Boston community in general. Founded in 1956, we are recognized as one of New England’s leading Gilbert and Sullivan troupes. Each year, we mount two full productions of works from the Gilbert & Sullivan canon. We also host a Victorian Ball each spring and offer special social events for our community — for instance, our annual autumn Wine & Cheese and annual Spring Tea.
