About Harvard Rocket Propulsion Group
The Harvard Rocket Propulsion Group is a student-led engineering team within Harvard's SEDS chapter. Our goal is to provide passionate student engineers with industry-applicable experience in the design, manufacturing, hot fire, and test flight of propulsion systems, and to expand Harvard's footprint into the aerospace landscape. HRPG has a history and culture of giving students a unique hands-on experience, as well as completing ambitious projects at a breakneck pace. Our members have leveraged their experiences to land jobs at companies such as SpaceX, Northrop Grumman, Ball Aerospace, and Relativity Space. Through HRPG, Harvard undergraduates learn about leadership, ownership, iterative design, and large-scale project execution. With our “Phase 0” initial rocket engine, we proved that we can safely and efficiently build and test fully-functional rocket engines. With our upcoming “Phase 1” rocket engine, we plan to elevate our capabilities into a thrust class that will allow us to compete on a national level.
