Harvest Project is a registered charity that serves Metro-Vancouver’s North Shore, 'extending a hand up' to people who find themselves on the margins of the community. Helping save lives. Close to home. In one of the wealthiest communities in Canada, critical family needs are often hidden and those who find themselves in desperate times often struggle to access services. For more than 30 years, Harvest Project has been reaching out to those who are experiencing extreme challenges with family trauma, illness, job loss, and the threat of poverty and homelessness. Harvest Project's impact in the community: We provide a safety-net for our neighbours in-need, by delivering resources for physical and emotional support. We bring together hundreds of volunteers, support from households, businesses, governments, schools, foundations and community groups, alongside our rent bank and grocery/nutrition and clothing support programs. Last year, we engaged in more than 3,000 one-to-one client care sessions and interactions with our neighbours. Our North Shore Rent Bank kept more than 200 residents housed. We shared donated groceries valued at $400,000, and provided clothing for hundreds of clients returning to work or school. Helping to restore our neighbours to health and stability benefits our whole community. We help save lives and build an inclusive and healthier North Shore.
