Harvest Ridge Winery is a family farm winery in Marydel, Delaware. Founded by Chuck Nunan, it opened in November of 2013 as the fourth winery in the state. The property straddles the borders of both Delaware and Maryland, and is on the historical Mason-Dixon Line. In fact, one of the most unique features of the property is the existence of one of the Mason-Dixon’s original witness stone and crown markers – number 47 – located on the property. It is for this reason that the number "47" has a prominent place in the company's logo. The winery is on a 180 acre farm, with over 12 acres cultivated for the vineyard. It also has a 6,250 square foot production facility. This allows the winery to be in charge of all aspects of its wine production -- from grape planting all the way through wine bottling. In the vineyard the winery has planted: Chardonnay, Viognier, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Landot Noir, Chambourcin, Vidal Blanc, Muscat, Barbera, and Cabernet Franc. In addition to their estate-grown grapes, Harvest Ridge also supports the surrounding agricultural community by purchasing fruit from local orchards and growers to supplement its own supply. The winery is open daily for tastings in the comfortable tasting room, with complimentary tours of the grounds offered on the weekend. In addition, Harvest Ridge hosts several events each month, including food and music evenings, food truck competitions, wine culture classes, and elegant wine pairing dinners. Harvest Ridge's 3000 square foot event space is also available for events, including weddings, receptions, reunions, bridal showers, holiday parties, and business meetings.
