About Harvey's Butter Rum Batter
Harvey's signature butter rum batter beverage & specialty mix was created in 1952 by its founder Harvey Hudson. He was tending bar at a local lounge and brought in his own batter recipe. It was such a hit with their customers that they began asking for the batter to make their own drinks at home. It became so popular that in 1960 he contracted with a local dairy to produce the batter in larger batches “after hours” using their equipment. In 1972 Harvey built his own plant in Bremerton, Washington. Harvey was passionate about his business and his customers. He continued working until his death at age 94 in 2011. Stacy Ryan purchased the company from Harvey's heirs in 2011. Harvey's Butter Rum Batter and has continued to expand distribution and its offering by adding gourmet popcorn to their line. The batter and popcorn are all hand crafted in small batches using the highest quality ingredients. Although the plant changed from its original location, it is still located in Bremerton and everything is made with the care and tradition that Harvey first started.
