About Hashtag Group

We offer modular options for international and local donors and local entities to participate in community projects that develop skills, support new ventures, and create jobs for South Africa’s Black youth. In partnering with us, local entities leverage government incentives with net cash positive tax savings; improve their B-BBEE scorecard; uplift the community; and play an active role in changing lives. For both local and global donors with the mandate to educate and develop underprivileged youth in rural and township communities, we offer socio economic development projects through our Non Profit Company (NPC), Hashtag Usizo NPC, which means Hashtag Help. The funds are used to employ youth to participate in Learnerships to achieve a SETA-accredited National Certificate, while receiving on-the-job training and experience in either: cobble brick paving, mixed farming, environmental management (includes waste recycling), and other sectors in their respective communities. On completion of their Learnerships, successful candidates are offered jobs or encouraged to work in cooperatives supported by government. These projects reduce the issues experienced by unemployed youth (substance abuse, crime) and transform the community into economically active centres with a brighter outlook.
