About HavaHeart Rescue
HavaHeart Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit incorporated in the state of Missouri formed to provide for the rescue, care, rehabilitation, and adoption of homeless, abused, endangered, discarded, or neglected dogs (including but not limited to Havanese), and to educate the general public on the importance of spaying/neutering, and the humane treatment of companion animals. HavaHeart is a foster based rescue organization who specializes in rescuing hypoallergenic companion animals. Many of the dogs we rescue are puppy mill survivors and have spent most if not all of their lives locked inside of a tiny cramped and filthy cage without any training, veterinary care, socialization, or human interaction… HavaHeart takes on the task of providing veterinary care, and rehabilitating these animals to prepare them to live outside of a cage and in a family environment, sometimes this includes professional training. We also rescue dogs from other situations where they may find themselves vulnerable. HavaHeart is a 100% volunteer ran organization, no salaries are paid, and 100% of donations go directly to the care of the animals we serve. It is only through the dedicated service of our volunteers (and donors) that we are able to carry out our mission. Your help is very much appreciated, and we look forward to the opportunity to introduce you to our organization. Donate – as a nonprofit, we rely solely on the generosity of our supporters to continue our mission. Veterinary care is an enormous expense... A typical “retired breeder dog” is 5-7 years old, has spent its entire life in a small filthy wire cage, has been bred literally almost to death, and in most cases has never received any veterinary care. Upon rescue, we see a wide variety of illnesses and injuries, some are life-threatening. We estimate that each rescue will cost roughly between $400-$700.
