About Haven of Peace Academy
Haven of Peace Academy (HOPAC) has been operating as a Christian international school for over 20 years. HOPAC was founded in 1994 by a group of missionaries who wanted to meet the educational needs of their children. Today, our school serves over 360 students with 43 teaching staff. Within our student body and staff, 33 different countries are represented. Approximately one third of our students are children of missionaries, one third are Tanzanian and one third are children of non- and for-profit workers. Accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International and by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, HOPAC follows the Cambridge curriculum and is a Cambridge Testing Centre. Our philosophy of teaching is Christian-based. We seek to integrate a biblical worldview throughout our curriculum. We believe that by integrating a biblical worldview into our curriculum, we are equipping students to live their lives to the glory of God. Our students are mentored to be leaders both in and outside of the school. Our service learning programme provides students with the opportunity to serve the greater community. Finally, our students are taught that learning is a privilege that needs to be well stewarded and that it is more blessed to give than to receive. Our teachers are supported by various missions, churches and friends. Each teacher has made a commitment to serving and providing a quality education. Our well-qualified, dedicated teachers seek to love, serve and teach the students as a fulfillment of a calling to serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
