About Hawai’i Women in Tech (HWIT)

Welcome to Hawai'i Women in Tech (HWIT)! Hawai‘i Women in Tech (HWIT) began as a grassroots meetup group in 2019, driven by a shared vision to unite and provide peer-to-peer support for women in tech and tech-adjacent roles across Hawai‘i. From 2021 to 2023, the community experienced exponential growth, expanding to over 400 members. In 2024, HWIT launched its Professional Network, quickly welcoming 200+ members within the first eighteen months, while our Meetup community grew to nearly 500 members. At the beginning of 2025, HWIT was formally established by a diverse founding board of 16 cross-sector Directors. Today, through volunteer-led efforts, HWIT has evolved into an organization with a powerful mission. We are an aloha-driven community where talent and opportunity converge to educate and accelerate local and global innovation. With technology shaping our collective future, HWIT is dedicated to ensuring our network has access to essential training, education, resources, and support to navigate both careers and personal growth. We believe in the transformative power of connections—uniting talent and opening pathways to opportunity through community building, strategic partnerships, engaging events, and accessible educational programs designed for all ages, from keiki to kūpuna.
