Hawkeye Pictures burst out of the gate with its inaugural project, Andrew Cividino's feature film SLEEPING GIANT which premiered at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival as a Semaine de la Critique selection, and has gone on to win numerous national and international awards including Best Canadian First Feature at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival. Hawkeye aims to drive the market through its production of high-quality content, moving stories and the spark that creates lasting connections with audiences. 2022 was a banner year with both Sheila Pye's THE YOUNG ARSONISTS and Clement Virgo's BROTHER world premiering at TIFF2022 and set to be released 2023.. Critically acclaimed during its festival run, BROTHER was also selected by programmers and industry panelists in TIFF Canada's Top 10 films of 2022; nominated by the Toronto Film Critics Association as one of the best films of the year; and the winner of a record 12 Canadian Screen Awards, including Best Motion Picture. Upcoming Hawkeye projects include the international doc series WHO OWNS THE WORLD; the feature THE PLAYERS written and directed by TIFF and Reykjavik Talent Lab alumna Sarah Galea-Davis and lensed by multi award-winning dop Sara Mishara; the feature documentary MR. DRESS UP: THE MAGIC OF MAKE-BELIEVE; and a partnership with Wildling Pictures on Sook Yin-Lee's PAYING FOR IT, from the best selling graphic novel.
