About HBV

We are the central purchasing body for our 320 members (owners): the municipal housing companies in Sweden. We carry out procurement procedures for our member who manage, in total, approximately 850,000 residential units. This represents 30 per cent of all units in Sweden. Annual sales on HBV contracts are approximately SEK 1.9 billion or USD 299 million. We promote the interests of ours members by providing attractive contracts for products and services related to construction, renovation and management, as well as assosicated procurement services. As a result our members enjoy more efficient procurement processes and can focus on their core acticities. As central purchasing body, we: - are a contracting authority - do not operate for profit- making purposes - can enter into coordinated framework agreements for building contracts, goods and services intended for other authority - are under the control of the contracting authorities we The products are everything the companies need for day-to-day maintenance. A special circumstance in Sweden is that refrigerators, freezers and cookers are provided in the kitchen equipment and therefore have to be maintained and renewed by the housing companies. Another special feature in Sweden is that all tenants have access to a laundry room, which means that the housing companies also maintain and renew a large number of laundry rooms.
