About HCDA Engineering

HCDA Engineering, Inc. (formerly Howard C. Dutzi & Associates, Inc.) was founded in November of 1961. Since its inception the firm has been engaged as structural engineering consultants to many architectural firms and other clients for numerous building projects of various types and sizes. Our present staff of thirteen persons consists of eight engineers, four Revit modelers, and one office manager. Working to satisfy the needs of our clients, we have designed structures using virtually every type of system and material including masonry, timber, structural steel, reinforced concrete, precast and post-tensioned prestressed concrete. We have designed foundations of all types including spread footings, driven piles, and drilled piers. Our experience includes the design of new buildings as well as extensive experience in remodeling and renovation of existing buildings. The number of projects completed each year totals in the hundreds. Committed to providing superior service we believe it is important to be involved in all aspects of structural engineering services on a project from the preliminary concept through preparation of contract documents, review of shop drawings, and on-site field observations. We work very closely with our client in investigating and evaluating various types of structural designs early in the design process in order to arrive at the most beneficial system for everyone involved.
