About Healthworks NE
We are a charity based in Newcastle working with local communities across the North East to improve their health, wellbeing and life outcomes. Healthworks believes that everyone, regardless of the challenges they face- low income, unemployment or poor housing, should have the same opportunity to live in good health. We deliver services and activities from our two centres, The Health Resource Centre in Benwell and the Lemington Centre, where we offer low cost activities at our community gyms. We also have a Pre-school at Lemington. We focus on recruiting local people and provide training and support so that they develop into skilled peer health advocates, with in-depth local knowledge and understanding of the barriers and day to day pressures people face which make life complicated and challenging.
