About Heard – organisation

Heard is a multi-award-winning charity. We work with people and the media to inspire communications and stories that change hearts and minds. We are at the forefront of narrative change in the UK. We’ve been refining our approaches for 17 years. Last year, we sparked stories that were seen and heard by a combined audience of 39 million: about poverty, climate change, migration, domestic abuse, sexual violence, trans experiences and children’s palliative care. We co-create with people with lived experience, and support them to share their experiences and perspectives in safe and boundaried ways (280+ people supported last year). We bring them together with the UK’s biggest media and pop culture institutions (BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, The Times, The Guardian, EastEnders, etc). These interactions spark more authentic and impactful storytelling that reaches millions of the public. We also train and support other charities and communicators within the change ecosystem, to bring framing and narrative change to life in their content and campaigns (560+ trained last year). We were previously known as On Road Media.
