About Heart4Heart Charity

The Heart4Heart Charity is a non-profit, student-run organization dedicated to raising funds for life-saving surgeries for children with congenital heart disease in developing countries. We also focus on education and advocacy within our communities, highlighting important issues regarding heart health, global health inequity and the wide-reaching impact of congenital heart disease on families around the world. With seven chapters at universities across Canada—University of Alberta, University of Calgary, Dalhousie University, McGill University, University of Ottawa, Queen’s University, and Université de Sherbrooke—Heart4Heart has collectively funded 65 surgeries to date, providing children with the chance to live healthy lives. A key aspect that distinguishes Heart4Heart from other organizations is our personalized approach. Each chapter fundraises for a specific child assigned by our partner organization, Gift of Life International. This unique, child-focused fundraising model ensures that every dollar raised goes directly toward providing a life-saving surgery for one child in need. Through Gift of Life International’s surgical missions, we are able to bring hope and new life to families who would otherwise be unable to access critical medical care. At Heart4Heart, we believe that operating on an individual basis not only fosters personal responsibility but also brings transparency and a deeper emotional connection to the cause. By focusing on one child at a time, we provide our supporters with a clear, tangible outcome—one surgery, one life saved, one child’s future forever changed.
