About Hearts and Paws Rescue

Hearts and Paws Rescue was born from an innate desire to save dogs. More specifically to save as many dogs as possible from drawing their last breath on the cold, sterile examination table of the euthanasia room. I have been a volunteer in the LA city shelter system for a year and a half and it has really opened my eyes to the great need we face as a city to do better by our animals as a society. This includes: Educating the public about the importance of spaying/neutering pets Changing the existing stereotype that causes people to think that the only pets you find in a shelter are sick, old or aggressive Raising awareness about how many healthy, great pets are killed every year, simply because they were unwanted Working together to get these adoptable dogs out of the shelter and into homes and rescues.
