About Hedrick Industries
Hedrick Industries is proud to be a fourth-generation, family-owned and operated business. We take great pride in providing quality construction materials that help to build the airports, roads, hospitals, schools, churches, playgrounds, and homes that make up our communities. Beginning with a single gravel deposit in Lilesville, North Carolina in 1924, Hedrick Industries worked its way towards becoming one of the most respected and innovative aggregate producers in the industry – building the trust and respect of our customers, road builders, and contractors one load of gravel at a time. Through the hard work and dedication of our employees and management, Hedrick was able to expand along with the state of North Carolina’s developing road system. During the early 1950s, B.V. Hedrick Gravel & Sand Company acquired Grove Stone and Sand Company. This expansion into the western North Carolina region continued with the opening of North Buncombe Quarry in 1979. In 1986, Lake Norman Quarry opened to help service the rapidly expanding Charlotte market. Through quality construction aggregate and excellent service, Hedrick Industries has developed an excellent reputation throughout the industry and allowed for further expansion across North and South Carolina – including Piedmont Sand (1994), Green River (1998), South McDowell (2000), Aquadale (2004), and Norman Sand (2010). Today, Hedrick Industries is the fifth-largest producer of crushed stone in the state of North Carolina. We are confident that our customers realize that Hedrick is a loyal partner – providing great value, exceptional service, and quality materials. Whether the construction needs are for a road-way expansion project or the beautification of a garden or walkway at home, we have the materials to literally build, fortify, and beautify the communities throughout Western North Carolina and the Piedmont region.
