About Helix Arts

A team of experienced and talented Creative Producers committed to improving cultural and social inclusion. We are a not for profit creative business. What we do We work with artists, in partnership with other organisations, to create opportunities for people to participate in ambitious arts activity. We work across a range of art forms including visual arts, filmmaking, creative writing, graphic design, animation, street dance, music and DJ-ing as well as photography, drama and textiles. We work with people of all abilities, of all ages. Why we do it Our participants say their confidence, motivation and skills are boosted. Fresh opportunities for employability are opened up and many move into education and training. Health and wellbeing improve. Participants see themselves differently during and after a high quality Helix Arts programme. Co-produced events, performances and exhibitions give audiences the opportunity to see participants in a very different light too. Our programmes transform the lives and spirits of artists, participants and audiences. Our vision We believe participation in creative activity is fundamental to the wellbeing of individuals and communities and therefore should be accessible to all. Our mission We increase equality of opportunity for people to participate in the arts and our focus is on those who currently have least opportunity including: children and young people at risk; unemployed adults and employed people on low incomes; people living in deprived neighbourhoods; those with special educational needs; and people with poor health, particularly those who are older. We welcome approaches from organisations and individuals who want to collaborate with us.
