About Help Our Kids
Life for children in foster care is already difficult. Children in foster care placements frequently change homes, and a year spent in one home is an uncommon luxury for many. Even when a home offers stability and a reasonable sense of belonging, more often than not there is no extra money available for anything beyond the basics of food and shelter. This is where HelpOurKids comes in. We provide some of “the other things” that promote a sense of normalcy. For example, we have partnered with the Community Music School of Springfield to provide children with music lessons. We’ve also supplied sporting equipment so a child could be on a team, a prom dress so that a teenager could feel just as special as her classmates, and more.
