As a free digital resource, we’re here for every person who needs us when they need us most—regardless of where they are in the world, what challenges they’re facing, or what they can afford. Our supportive, educational guides and tools provide a critical lifeline to anyone who turns to the Internet for help. HelpGuide was founded in 1999 by Robert and Jeanne Segal following the death by suicide of their daughter Morgan. Since that time, it has grown from a small Santa Monica-based project to an internationally renowned 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that reaches millions of people every month.
