About Helping Hands Hawaii
Helping Hands Hawai‘i administers numerous programs that benefit the community, including the Bilingual Access Line, Emergency Assistance Program, SNAP Outreach, Community Clearinghouse, Ready to Learn, Adopt a Family and Representative Payee Services. Helping Hands Hawai‘i provides a vital lifeline for the local community – helping its members to help one another. The agency began as the Honolulu Council of Social Agencies’ Volunteer Placement Bureau in 1941 and incorporated as Helping Hands Hawaii in 1974.
