About Henry For Music

With its first instruments donated, refurbished and gifted in 2015, Henry For Music began as a joyful grassroots movement to place musical instruments—and meaningful mentorship—into the hands of youth across Henry County. What began with a few donated instruments and a deep belief in music’s power has blossomed into a vibrant nonprofit that empowers young people through access to instruments, mentorship, and the joy of making music in community. Officially incorporated in 2019, we provide hands-on music education through weekly Jam Sessions, Youth Orchestra United, seasonal workshops, and our annual Summer Camp. Each program meets students where they are—musically and personally—while nurturing creativity, confidence, leadership, and connection. From their first notes to leading performances, we help young people grow in rhythm with their dreams. Performance is at the heart of what we do. Our students take the stage at joyful community events including Third Fridays at Sweet Auburn BBQ, the Stockbridge Mayor’s State of the City Address, citywide holiday festivals, cultural celebrations, and seasonal showcases. These performances aren’t just events—they’re joyful milestones of pride and progress. As our rhythm carries beyond Henry County, we’re building meaningful partnerships across Georgia—with schools, cities, musicians, and fellow nonprofits—to create a statewide harmony of access and opportunity. Our work is rooted in joy, driven by equity, and powered by people. We believe every child deserves the chance to experience the magic of music—regardless of background, income, or zip code.
