About Herd - Open Kitchen

Our goal is to celebrate and promote the local heroes of the kitchen by drastically reducing the risks and expenses of food companies in Austria. We want to give everyone the chance and help them shape the Viennese and, in the future, the culinary and sustainable world. We enable joint learning, networking and help them become permanently successful - 360° from cooking / infrastructure / logistics to sales. We offer more than a 1000 m² fully licensed and equipped "State of the Art" production kitchen - we are the "Herd" of a community and support our members as: Full Service Caterer: Herd is the house caterer of the Albert Schweitzer House, the Beach Volleyball World Championship "Grand Slam" and generally acts as a Full Service Caterer which reserve foods and drinks directly from its members to guarantee their orders & cash flow. Incubator for Food Producers: Through the Program #herdsourcing supported by the Vienna Business Agency, Herd connects together with a mentoring network to select Food Startups and make them become professional suppliers for both retailers and wholesalers. Joint Events and Gastro Concepts: Herd is designed to create distribution opportunities for its members through pop-ups collaborations, events and possible gastro concepts, through which customers can experience service from new gastronomic startups as well as a constantly changing menu of various specialized companies. In addition, customers will have the chance to get to know and directly promote innovative gastronomy.
